Course objectives

The objective of the training is to enhance the efficiency of the MSW Processing Plant and to provide hands-on-training to the NMC staff engaged in the operation and maintenance of the facility in order to ensure an efficient, environmentally sound and sustainable Municipal Solid Waste Processing Plant.

Expected results/impacts

1. Development of systems for monitoring of quality and quantity of the compost and for testing of the final products.
2. Development of monitoring systems for activities related to RDF and Bio-methanation.
3. Documentation of the process at the start, middle and end of the hands-on-training and also to help establish the system of documentation at the plant.
4. Better trained Staff at the MSWM Plant for managing the current processes
5. Recommendations for Organisational enhancement (staffing requirements), suggestions for alterations for enhancing the efficiency of the processing plant and development of Standard Operation Procedures for routine operation and maintenance which can be adopted by NMC.
