Objectives
  • To create awareness for segregation of waste with hundred percent coverage in all 7 divisions in the city, through the community.
  • Disseminate knowledge that makes the citizens as Inspired citizens who shoulder responsibility and make the Project sustainable.
  • Develop and Train SAKRAMA Volunteers @ minimum ten persons from each Division who will be empowered to monitor the programs continuously as Community service.
  • Train and motivate all institutions and establishments to participate in the project.
  • Encourage Effective Solid Waste Management and other waste management for a healthy and hygienic environment.
  • Reduce pollution of land , water and air by appropriate interventions.
  • Strengthen the existing infrastructure of vermi compost and door to door collection
  • Bring out regular education material and bring out progress reports
  • Development of skills to handle, give value addition and market the eco products of the project.
  • Facilitate harmonious and coordinated spirit among the various stakeholders to mange various resources for a good eco system.
Expected results/impacts
  • Hundred percent awareness for segregation of waste is created in all the seven zones of the city.
  • Community is empowered for segregating waste into wet and dry components.
  • The existing system for doo-to-door collection of waste and infrastructure for vermin-compost is strengthened
